Alrighty, I am now announcing my next competition...





THEME

Yes, I've decided to go with the surreal theme. Although some seem to think that surreal is too hard for people to do, I hope it will encourage people to improve their work. This is a competition, after all.

The defination for "surreal" is "Having an oddly dreamlike quality." I would like to remind people that this refers to actual dreams you have while you sleep (or perhaps while under the influence of something), you know what I mean that sort of craziness that makes so much sense when you sleep, but it's absolutely crazy once drawn out. I don't consider a fairy with a diffuse glow filter on as "dream-like" even though it's sort of hazy. EDIT: May I please remind you that this is not a competition about "dreams" The theme really is "surreal"

If you don't really know what I mean by "surreal" perhaps you should try viewing this surreal photomanip article written by *ssecret, in which =Barbiedoll, *ssecret and I (=DoNotAttempt) each featured nine surreal photomanips.


RULES

You've got to use my figure stock (Either the little boy or the older girl) _{but it doesn't have to be a complete body, you could just use my arm or a leg, just be sure I can see it somewhere in the picture. If it's hard to spot, just mention where in the picture it is.}

Only two entries per person.

It must fit the theme

Any medium is allowed! Culinary arts, drawings, paintings, graffiti, photomanip, anything! Just be sure to use my stock as reference or in the piece.

In the description of your picture - in the artist's comments - please mention that it's an entry for my competition. A link to this journal would be nice, but it's not required.

Please follow all deviantART rules, credit your resources and follow my stock rules.

Must be a new piece of art - never before submitted to deviantART.

Carefully read the rules above and make sure your entry in question follows every rule.

Send me a note with something like "competition entry" in the subject and include a link to your entry.

I'll be giving away a three-month subscription to one donator drawn at random (I'll have my three [almost four!] year old brother pick out a slip of paper from a hat) so to encourage people to donate!

Subscription - 1-3 months or prints of equal value: Two slips of paper
Print account, 6-12 month subscription or print of equal value: Four slips of paper
Exclusive Stock packs - Depending on resolution, clear backgrounds, etc.: 1-3 slips of paper

Commissions: I'm sorry to say, but really depends on your effort and talent. Please do not donate if you don't think your art is that great to prevent obvious awkwardness from myself. I hate putting prices on other people's commissions and time. Or you can just say "I know I'm new at this, so one slip of paper in exchange is fine..."

If you donate a three month subscription and a journal feature, you'll have three slips of paper added in to the hat... other combos like that will add up just the same.</sub>

I'm really low on cash for myself so I'm paying for these prizes with all the spare money I can find, I may even have to get a part-time job if I can't earn the cash around the house. That's how much I love you guys! You'll also have a chance to win a subscription for yourself.

SURREAL

Once again, may I remind you that the theme is "surreal"

"Surreal" is not just an excuse for not having something realistic. Contrary to what many believe, it takes time an energy to do, just like any other art form. Many surreal artists can do incredibly realistic stuff, but surreal is just more their style. Here's some featured pieces (using my stock) that I think of as surreal, even though some aren't even in the surreal category:
